Happy Wednesday everyone!
Should a person be able to print/write with a pen or paper? Or, in today's society, is typing all one needs? This is an on-going debate all adults have - parents and teachers - and one that we all think about. I try to cover both; however, if there are some problems or a child learns and produces in an unconventional manner, it is my duty/job to ensure I can find a way for that child to produce. Therefore, I need to teach every child how to type in order to have all access to all technology. There will now be daily typing homework. Over the next few weeks, Mr. Hosick and I will create a typing log. We can only practice so much at school. I want to show them how to use technology, but the practice needs to be done at home. Please be patient with me, as I create this log. In the mean time, please use the available link, Dancemat.
Please take photos of your habitat and think about what you are seeing out there. Again, there are numerous ways of getting the photos to school:
1. Upload them onto a voicethread account
2. Save them on a memory stick/jumpdrive/ USB stick...
3. Bring the camera to school (not recommended)
4. Send them to yourself or me to access at school
5. Print them at home (photo paper is NOT needed or required) and bring them to school.
Read tonight and every night.
Don't forget picture day and Meet the Creature, I mean Teacher, tomorrow. Open House is from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. If you are unavailable to come, please contact me to arrange a face-to-face meeting. I think it's important we all see with whom we are communicating and supporting your child. Sorry this is so late getting up, I had an activity right after school.
