Happy Weekend, everyone! The only homework this weekend is the usual, typing and reading. We are going to start a typing log next Monday and a Reading Log next Tuesday. I need to see how long each student is spending reading and if there is anything we can do to help him/her read more.
The students have been working hard all week learning the concept of copying, pasting, transferring and uploading digital photographs onto computers and Voice Thread. It's been a week of chaos, but I think the end justifies the means. I hope they will now remember how to do all that for future assignments.
Mrs. Matheson kindly downloaded the Voice Thread App on all the ipads. We were, therefore, able to use them this week and record voices onto their voice thread. Not all students got the chance to complete them and that is perfectly alright. I would much rather prefer to see how students work and complete an assignment in class, than at home. I need to see these skills of problem solving and working independently at school.
We will finish all habitat assignments next week. This was not only the students' first assignment, but mine too. I am not going to rush through this, as I really want them to understand how to use Voice Thread.
That's all for today, folks. Please check out the Monarch Blog, as it was an exciting week in the class for our butterflies. We had 4 releases today and many students were able to have photos taken with a butterfl
