There will be a math make-up test for the integer unit on Friday, November 1st. I will be combining the grades, to make it fair to others. I will have a review and help time tomorrow during lunch/recess. So far today, no one has remained inside to seek help.
The playlist presentations were impressive. It was interesting to see how some students went outside of their music knowledge to find songs with which they could connect for their novel. I am not assigning a formal independent novel for a while now. I would like to focus on non-fiction and on Remembrance Day readings.
I am having the class sign into Edmodo, which is a closed website software, similar to Facebook. I can post thoughts, assignments and students can post questions and send in their assignments to me. Best of all, parents can also sign in under their child's name to see if their son/daughter is completing assignments. This is new to me, so please be patient. The first assignment to be posted with be everyone's descriptive writing assignment on their greatest fear.
Congratulations to Lindsay for winning the hard copy of "Divergent". Everyoen had their names in the draw - some more than others, depending on whether or not you had homework completed and winning the frisbee golf tournament. This past month's Scholastic Book Order had Divergent for sale for $9.99. If you would like a copy, please let me know and I can order more. Insurgent, the second book in the series was on sale in October, but is also still available for purchase.
